GLS is hosting an LCMS-wide grilling competition, family night and potluck on September 20 to involve all of our Association churches. This is a free event with food, fellowship, and family fun for all ages.
Competitors can enter one or more of four categories: brisket, ribs, fowl, or a BBQ side. (We hear Waldvogel makes a mean brisket!)
All others can bring a dish to pass and enjoy samples of the best of Lutheran BBQ along with games, bingo, and root beer floats.
Voting is people's choice for each category and the church with the most winning Grill Masters takes a traveling trophy.
Why are we doing this? The LCMS community in Fargo is tightknit and strong and we are looking for opportunities to bring our church bodies together for fellowship and to, of course, showcase the school at the same time.
In fact, we have more LCMS-wide opportunities coming up this year including a chili competition in November and an International Night in March where we invite churches to showcase their domestic and international missions.
We are eagerly looking forward to this opportunity to be together as one body and both get to know one another better and to unite in our common beliefs.
