Lutheran Church Missouri Synod North Dakota District is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Rev. Arie Bertsch
President
Reverend Arie Bertsch was born in Freeman, South Dakota. He studied at the University of South Dakota and went on to graduate from Fort Wayne Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Doris, live in Minot and attend St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They have two children, Virginia and Crystal, and five grandchildren: Levi, Lucy, Autumn, Demy and Ayla. President Arie enjoys fishing, hunting, and building in his spare time.

Rev. Kirk Peters
1st Vice President (West Region)
Pastor Kirk Peters was born in Seward, Nebraska where he attended high school. He went on to graduate from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska and eventually attended and graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Indiana. He is currently serving at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hazen, North Dakota. Pastor Peters and his wife Lisa have three grown children: Jessica, Zachary, and Jacob. He enjoys woodworking and carving as well as fishing, hunting, and flytying.
Rev. Mark Chepulis
2nd Vice President (East)
Rev. Mark Chepulis enjoys being with his wife, Amy, and four children, Katherine, Eli, Caleb, and Lucia. He grew up in Hardin, Montana and went on to Montana State University receiving his BA in Music. Rev. Chepulis also owns his own Piano Service business (Chepulis Piano Service) directs the Pembina County Homeschool Cantabo Choir and currently serves a tri-parrish congregation including, Our Savior in Cavalier, St. Paul in St. Thomas, and Redeemer in Langdon.
