“Faithful Pastors”: Life Together
Dear Brothers in Christ Jesus Our Lord:
Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened” (Mt. 7:7-8). Prayer is one of the most important ways we can support our brother pastors in the North Dakota District – LCMS. Knowing that each pastor
of the district is prayed for by name by the respective congregations of the district for their spiritual life, physical health, emotional health, their family life, and their called position as pastor serves to build up and strengthen each pastor of the district. It also serves in uniting the congregations of the North Dakota District with a unified voice to God above bearing witness
to one another through their prayers for the men and women whom they have called to serve them.
Let us covenant together in remembering one another in prayer, asking our Lord’s blessing, guidance, wisdom, and words to be with our brothers and sisters in the faith as they proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in which our Lord has entrusted their care. Jesus said, “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith” (Mt. 21:22).
Below, you will see a schedule reflecting the date and pastor/DCE/deaconess for whom to pray. It is with hope that at the beginning of each month you will receive a reminder of the individuals for whom to pray that have been assigned for the Sundays of that respective month. Blessings to you all as we work together as many voices united as one for the good of the church on earth in the proclamation of the Gospel. I have included below a prayer that you are welcome to use in the prayers of your church as you pray for your brothers in the ministry in the North Dakota District:
Almighty and gracious heavenly Father, You have so richly blessed Your church on earth by sending laborers into Your harvest to proclaim Your Word, administer Your means of grace, and care for Your sheep. Pour out upon them and their families Your continual blessing, that they might be a blessing to the congregations committed to their care. We pray especially for (___insert name[s]____). Use them as your instruments to proclaim the truths, not of man but of the living God, so that having been strengthened by Your Word and Spirit, they may faithfully and boldly lead your flock in doing those things that are well pleasing to You and profitable for salvation, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
What a blessing it is that we unite our voices together, raising one another up to our Lord in prayer. God be with you all!
